Ron & Peggy were born raised on the BC Lower Mainland but have always had strong ties to the Island. Both had Grandparents who established lives on the Island before either of them were born and in fact Ron’s paternal Grandfather was born in Nanaimo in the late 1800’s. Ron & Peggy both retain many happy memories of their early years on the Island.
Ron & Peggy actually met in childhood and after many years as friends and sweethearts married and began their lifelong partnership.
Ron began his professional career as a REALTOR® in 1986 after working as an Industrial Electrician for 18 years. When that career began to take him away from his family for longer and longer periods of time he decided a career change was warranted. Shortly after Ron’s new career was successfully launched, Peggy followed suit and their “Team” was forged. There list of sales achievement awards is long and include Master Medallion Club and RE/MAX 100% Club status.
Ron & Peggy believe in “community” and serving in ways to enhance its welfare. Over the years, Ron coached high level, junior soccer teams while Peggy was a mainstay at the local schools. Ron also served as a Kinsman, as a Director for the much acclaimed Hawthorne Care Centre, and now as a Nanoose Bay Lion. Ron & Peggy are also strong supporters and fundraisers for the Children’s Miracle Network/BC Children’s Hospital and every home they sell is a “Miracle Home”. “We really do enjoy all the community event days – they’re so important & we’re usually somewhere in the background helping out…” – The Teddy Bear Picnic, Canada Day Parade, Christmas Parade, Nanoose Bay Library, the Meat Draws, the Beachcomber Miracle Yard Sale, Moorecroft, the Farmer’s Markets and ……….
Of course their biggest joy in life is family and friends with special notice given to their four grandchildren who they treasure above all else. Of course Buddy, their forever pup, is included as family and they can often be seen together on walks or fetching sticks at the beach.
The climate here is perfect for the gardener and while gardening time and skills are still limited, Peggy enjoys the Nanoose Bay Garden Club and the friends she has made there.
They’ve lived and raised their family in several of BC’s beautiful communities but their but their strong ties to the Island brought them back and this is where they’ll remain because “for us - there just isn’t a better place to live and work”.
